How to Clean Stains and Spills from Artificial Grass
When you purchase artificial grass with installation, you want to keep it looking great. A lot of things can cause wear and tear on your lawn, including pet waste, grease from the barbecue, and spills like wine or coffee. In order to keep it in great condition all year round, you will want to keep it clean. Read on for tips on how to clean spills and stains.
Artificial Grass with Installation
Field Turf Landscape offers artificial grass with installation. We do all the work to get your lawn ready for your home. All you have to do is take care of it when we’re done. Our artificial turf has proprietary Maxxflow technology that makes it easy to rinse clean. However, it is inevitable that spills and stains will happen.
Common Spills and Stains and How to Clean Them
Whether you have pets, or kids, or are hosting a barbecue, you are likely to spill something or have an accident. Knowing how to clean your artificial grass will help you keep it looking great for years.
Grease
When you’re hosting a party, it is inevitable that someone will drop or spill something. Barbecue food can be greasy and getting this grease on your artificial lawn will take away its beauty.
Absorb as much as you can with a paper towel but avoid scrubbing, as this can push the grease further into your lawn. Once you’ve cleaned most of it, mix detergent or baby oil in a spray bottle with warm water. Apply this mixture to the area. Let it sit for five minutes, blot again, and rinse clean. Let it dry completely before walking on it.
Wine
Outdoor parties in the summer are fun, but spills can happen, especially if someone’s had too much to drink. To clean red wine from your turf, use a rag and soak the stain in cold water. Dilute white vinegar to remove any remaining stains. Rinse and let dry completely before walking on.
Pet Waste
If you have pets, you can’t avoid them using your artificial grass as a toilet. Field Turf Landscape has proprietary Maxxflow technology that rinses away pet waste easily. Clean up solid waste as soon as possible and use the hose to wash away any remaining waste.
Sauces and Dressings
At BBQs, burgers and hot dogs can get messy. Ketchup and mustard can fall onto your lawn and stain it if not cleaned properly. Blot with a paper towel to absorb as much as possible and apply a mixture of baking soda and water paste to the stain. Brush gently into the stain and let sit for a minute. Rinse with Clean water and let dry before walking on it.
Chewing Gum
If you have kids, they probably chew gum. They may spit it out or accidentally drop it. This can be tricky to clean off without wrecking the turf. However, a simple method includes ice cubes and a butter knife. Place ice cubes on the gum so it hardens and is easier to pick off. Then gently scrape the blades with a butter knife to remove the rest.
Once you purchase artificial grass with installation, it will last for many years and will save time and money in maintenance costs. It is eco-friendly and customizable for any space. Keeping it clean of spills and stains will make it look great for years to come.
